Another Sheepy, a different way

For the Yahoo! Wool Soaker Groups knitting challenge, I am stepping up the complicated and coolness factors on the last of the Sheepy Sacks I am planning to make (at this time anyway, LOL) I chose a slip stitch pattern that I found on Knitty Gritty....but I changed it up a LOT...the original was worked in garter, and since I only had one skein of the Knit Picks Wool of the Andes 'Cardinal Twist' colorway that I wanted to use, I converted it to stockinette, and then converted it again from a flat knit design to an in the round design. I am totally loving it...so funny to be working in a circle and have the stripes show up and down! How cool is that? Pin It

Finished another Sheepy Sack

I really love how this turned out. The color is perfect...the coffee worked very well to dye with. I'm impressed. I also really love Mandie's pattern. It is so simple, and affords me the opportunity to play around with new techniques that might be daunting in a larger project or one with a lot of shaping.

Here is a pic of the finished product.

Not exactly knittin'...baby news!

We got the news today, that after 4 baby girls, and having custody of another, DH and I are finally expecting a baby boy! It has been nearly 21 year since there was a baby boy in the family...my poor VERY outnumbered stepson, lol, so I am sure that this tiny prince will be incredibly spoiled!

Hehe...an excuse to buy more 'boyish' yarns...see...there is always a way to turn it around to knitting, LOL. Pin It

Reveling in Ravelry

I think this could well become an obsession, LOL...boy my husband is going to love that!! I spent the better part of the last 8 hours, with a few breaks for mommy duties, filling out my "notebook" and exploring the Ravelry site...and there is still sooo much more to check out! What fun what fun! Off to fix supper now, then do a little knitting while I check out the Thursday night lineup. Pin It

I'm in the club!

I got home tonight from taking my kiddos trick or treating (hills and a double stroller are torture to a 5 mos preggo lady!!!) to find my long awaited Ravelry invite sitting in my mailbox...I've played some, but now the very long day is catching up with me!! Off to relax with a cozy ball of wool, and a nice glass of lemonade, to await my darling hubby's return from his band's Halloween performance...hopefully the inebriated clientele will take it easy tonight! October 31st...Getting started!

I have been crafting up a storm in preparation for our newest arrival. We don't find
out for a few days yet what we are having and I am on pins and needles....it
sometimes seems that Monday will never arrive! We have reached the halfway
point of 20 weeks, and I still have sooo much to do!! I am hoping to be able to
start decorating the baby's room this weekend, and getting everything in order,
because I know that before long I'm just not gong to have the energy for it!
I have thus far sewn several baby carriers including a wrap, a ring sling (with 3
more awaiting rings), a mei tei, and a narrow podegi. I have also sewn what I am
calling a "Snugglepod", essentially a kick proof swaddler, out of a yummy stretch
velour.

I have also been knitting like crazy, and have made 2 of my own wool soaker
pattern (posted in the files of the Yahoo! Wool Soaker Group), 2
Tiny Bird
shorties
), 2 Aubrey Doodlepants shorties), and am
halfway done with a cabled version (cable and bobbles, to be exact) of the
Sheepytime Sheepy Sack. Most of these projects are pictured here here, with many more planned! Pin It
